Effective Stewardship What?

by
Ken Williams

Communiqué is a simple but relatively unknown word. It is a noun which means “to communicate or announce.” This publication from KLW Enterprises is designed to communicate and announce various aspects of the program known as “Effective Stewardship: Building on Biblical Principles.”

The intended recipients of this monthly publication are the pastors and lay coordinators of churches which are participating in the “Effective Stewardship” program. The Communiqué, which is sent without charge to these key individuals, includes ideas, suggestions, tips, success stories and notices about the “Effective Stewardship” program. These items are being provided for two primary reasons.

First, all of us can learn from the experiences of others. Sometimes, especially when it comes to funding the local church, we might feel as though we are the only ones engaged in the battle. In reality, every church — to one degree or another — faces the problem of providing adequate revenue to pay for its programs and ministries. Through this publication, we try to provide encouragement and assistance, not only from KLW Enterprises, but also from other churches.

Second, the “Effective Stewardship” program is unique. Pastors, lay leaders and denominational stewardship executives all across the nation have responded similarly to it, usually through this phrase: “We have nothing like this.” Because this program is different, it might be difficult at times for you to know just how you should utilize part or all of it. The Communiqué hopefully provides some assistance in this area.

If you have ideas that might benefit other churches, please contact us. And if you have suggestions as to how the program could be improved, please let us know that as well. “Effective Stewardship: Building on Biblical Principles” is not the “be all, end all” for church finances. It is, however, a tool which continues to benefit churches large and small as they sow the seed of the Word of God. We welcome your thoughts and comments, as well as your prayers.
